We build communication skills that last a Lifetime.
At Lifetime Speech Therapy, we partner with families to support children, adolescents, and young adults with speech, language, literacy, and social communication needs.
Whether your child is just starting to communicate or navigating more advanced functional, social, or academic challenges, we’re here to help them feel understood, connected, and successful— at home, at school, and in the community.
Our Speech Therapy Services
-
We will start by learning about your child’s current communication skills, using tools like parent questionnaires, observations, and structured assessments. If your child has had a recent IEP or other evaluation within the last year, we will also review those reports.
Once the evaluation is complete, we’ll go over the results and work together to set meaningful goals for speech therapy. You will receive a written report with our findings and recommendations for moving forward.
-
Speech Sound therapy for articulation and/or phonology focuses on helping your child communicate with clear and confident speech.
Whether they say "Wun for Run", "Wion for Lion", or they completely drop off sounds like "poon for spoon" or "ca for cat", speech sound therapy will focus on helping them say age-appropriate sounds and words.
Using games, play, and structured activities, speech therapy will not only help your child speak more clearly, but it will also lay the foundation for success with reading and spelling.
-
Speech therapy for social skills and pragmatic language focuses on how your child uses language to interact with people and the world around them.
Using a neurodiversity-affirming approach, we teach your child:
How their brain works
How they can advocate for their needs, both functionally and socially
Different styles of communication and how those styles can be perceived by others
How to navigate social situations
Our goal is to meet your child where they are at and build on their strengths so they can not only develop social skills but also feel comfortable and confident in who they are.
-
Taking your child's age into consideration, we target developmentally appropriate language skills.
We use play-based and child-led therapy to help your child:
Learn and use new vocabulary
Put words together into longer sentences
Build grammar skills
Express their thoughts, wants, and needs
Follow directions
Understand and respond to questions
Speech therapy will help your child develop the essential language skills needed to confidently engage throughout their day at home, school, and in the community.
Meet Your Speech Therapist
Welcome! I’m Katie.
I’m a Wisconsin native, mom of three, and speech therapist in Pewaukee, WI. I bring over 13 years of experience to my work at Lifetime Speech Therapy, supporting children, teens, and young adults as they build life-long communication skills.
I believe there is no “one way” to do speech therapy. That’s why I’ll listen to your family’s concerns, meet your child where they are, and tailor my approach to meet their unique needs. My goal is to help your child learn, communicate, and thrive in the real world.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 kids, going to the lake, and working out. I look forward to meeting your family!
